Fall Trend: Swingin' Sixties!!

Looks like Mad Men has brought the Sixties style into play.  This fall put your 80's garb on hold and pull out your saturated colors, geometric prints, and posh 60's inspired dresses.

If you haven't watched Mad Men yet, pull up your netflix stream and pull an all day and night marathon.  It's really a must.

What's the allure of anti-feminism in a television show?  It's just a shock to see what they will do or say next!  And Mad Men takes place at the end of the 60's where women are just starting to take the stage.

JOAN  is the sexy vixen on the show.  When I think of Joan, I think of beautiful red colors, clevage, and dresses that hug that perfect hour-glass shape.  Joan is my favorite character on the show.  She's sexy, sophisticated and independent.  Joan can take on the world and still keep her lipstick in place.

Check out our JOAN inspired looks!!

This black, satin dress has ruching that is very flattering on an hour-glass figure.  It accentuates the small waist and dips down for ample cleavage.   Joan would eat this dress up!   And the red satin dress below is a classy, sophisticated dress that still embodies sexy.  Red is hot... Joan would agree.
BETTY is the stay at home mom, but even though her husband is the one that brings home the bread, there's no doubt in anybody's mind that she's the one in charge.    Nobody messes with Betty or her family and if they do, she'll unleash her inner fury on you, all while keeping her hair perfectly coiffed.   Betty is the most proper and lady-like woman on the show in my opinion.

And now for PINK's Betty-inspired looks:
While Betty hardly ever wears pants, on the few occassions that she does, you can bet she's paired them off with a chiffon blouse.  Betty is very feminine and her clothes reflect that.  For either of these two outfits... wear with pearls.

As a former model for Versace, Betty, is the epitome of glam and fashion.  When she goes out to events, she is the belle of the ball and so can you with this mermaid-train dress.  While this dress comes in many colors, Betty would choose a pastel color or the aqua shown below to go with her blond hair and bring out the color of her eyes.  Pair this dress with a gorgeous diamond (or swarovski-crystaled necklace) and matching bracelet.

PEGGY is the new girl.  When you first meet Peggy she's rather timid and unsure of herself.  But soon Peggy starts moving up in the world and finding her own footing.  She's the take-charge kind of girl, abitious and determined to be a successful woman in a man's world.

Peggy is most comfortable and stylish in her work skirts.  From plaid to pleat, Peggy wears knee length skirts in a wide array of color.   She normally pairs the skirt with a short sleeved top and sometimes adorns a blazer.
Here are our Peggy-inspired looks.  We think Peggy looks very pretty in the color blue so here are three outfits fit for any peggy-isnpired look.
This first dress features a pleated skirt and blousy top.  Wear it with black leggings and boots or on its own with a black pump for a sexier look. The bow necklace has little pearls on it that make it cute and feminine.
This sweater material dress fits short and tight.  It would not be in Peggy's comfort zone, but Joan would totally make her wear it.  It's sophisticated and sexy and that blue is GORGEOUS!

One of our favorite 60's inspired dresses.  We love the little frill around the waist.  The sweatheart neckline is flattering on everybody.  We love this dress and you will too.

Those are our PINK outfits inspired by Mad Men.  Hope you love the outfits as much as we do!  <3
Look beautiful, ladies!
